Ford Mustang Debuts New GT California Special Edition in Lineup

Recently, Ford has been pushing the nostalgic qualities of its iconic Mustang, a sports car that has become a household name and inspired ownership clubs as early as the year it debuted in 1964.

Recently, Ford debuted the Mustang Bullitt trim with the 2019 Ford Mustang to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous car chase scene in Bullit. Another exciting bit of news enthusiasts can look forward to is the Ford Mustang GT California Special Edition.

The “California Special” name is taken from a vintage model of the Ford Mustang that had existed years ago. The trim debuted in 1968 and was sold only in limited quantities. Thankfully, the 2018 Ford Mustang GT California Special Edition takes inspiration from the original California Special’s design so modern drivers can enjoy its stylish and nostalgic fading stripe and classic badge while also getting all the amenities one would expect from a 2019 model.

The GT California Special Edition package will also offer features such as a 12-speaker premium audio system and a more advanced, smoother-shifting six-speed manual transmission. A 10-speed automatic is also available. Drivers will also be able to select from a palette of vintage colors, such as Velocity Blue and Dark Highland Green.

The limited-edition model, as well as the 2019 Ford Mustang in general, will go on sale this summer. You will be able to find it here at Blue Springs Ford.
